At Lone Star Equestrian Bluegrass, our IEA program is about so much more than just horse shows — it’s about building confidence, friendships, teamwork, leadership, and unforgettable memories both in and out of the saddle.
We are proud to offer one of Kentucky’s only IEA Dressage programs, welcoming riders from elementary through high school levels. IEA gives riders the opportunity to compete in a unique format where riders draw horses at shows and compete without using their own horse. This teaches adaptability, horsemanship, sportsmanship, and real riding skill while helping riders grow both mentally and physically as athletes.
Our season typically runs from June through November, with postseason opportunities continuing through the spring for qualifying riders. Team members participate in group practices, educational horsemanship activities, team bonding events, horse shows, clinics, and fun barn outings throughout the year.
❋ Junior Team Program
Our Junior Team is designed especially for younger riders, typically 3rd–4th grade, who are interested in learning about competition in a fun and encouraging environment. Junior riders participate in in-barn shows, group practices, and fun educational activities that help prepare them for future IEA competition while building confidence and teamwork skills.
Most importantly, our goal is to create a positive environment where riders can work hard, make lifelong friendships, challenge themselves, and truly love the sport. Whether a rider wants to compete at a high level or simply be part of an amazing team experience, there is a place for everyone in our program.

IEA is an incredible opportunity for riders who dream of continuing equestrian sports beyond childhood. Riders can gain valuable show experience, leadership skills, and competitive accomplishments that may help with future college opportunities, scholarships, and equestrian team involvement at the collegiate level.
